Wind that Shakes the Barley played at concert at the Vermont State House in the House of Representatives to a full "house"!!!! A fine time was had by all. The Wind was seen later wandering the streets for an after concert stout!!! Thanks to the Farmers Night Series for having the Wind in to play.

Robert Burns nite with the Wind

Our second annual Robert Burns Night extravanza was carried out this year in its fine tradition. A marvelous meal of vegetarian haggis accompanied by potatoes, winter squash, salad, hearty soup, salad and scones. Steve piped the Haggis in as the band and guests paraded the fine dish to the dinner table. A round of Burns poetry, a bottle of Scotch later and a good time was had by all with a fine concert of music to end the evening.

Wind that Shakes the Barley is currently regrouping as a trio. Shanty Bob has left the band to devote more time to his ukelele, ministry, traveling to Hawaii and keeping life just a little simpler.

Life continues to be exciting for the Wind. We ended the year with a stunning tour of North Country, peforming in Colebrook, NH and East Charleston, VT to full house crowds.

Camel's Hump

The Wind along with families and friends scaled the heights of Camel's Hump in Vermont. Celtic Music was heard atop the 4086 foot mountain as the band toted flute, whistles and mandolin to the summit. A glorious day was had by all with mostly sunny skies, no mosquitos, great company and fabuous snacks!!!

Rachel and Bob braved the cool fall weather for a fantastic duo out door concert in Norwich VT. Great food, artworks, and organic produce galour! everywhere!!!! Let's do that again!!!!

Wonderful concert at the Music Box in Crafstbury Vermont. John Drury joined the band on guitar and cittern sitting in for Shanty Bob who is off in Hawaii. A whole new repertoire was unleashed to a very enthusiastic audience. Thanks to Lisa Sammet for inviting us back.

Wow. Fantastic times.

During August the Wind performed in Chester, VT for band member Shanty Bob Smith's daughter. A wonderful engagement with the music flowing freely!!!

In September Rachel and Bob performed as a duo for a wedding reception in NH. A wonderfully exuberant day full of music, good times and old friends!!!

The Wind is looking forward to performing at the Music Box this month with John Drury joing the band on Cittern and Guitar!!!!

Shanty Bob is off touring Hawaii!!

What more can be said, Wind members Bob and Rachel totally enjoyed performing with John Drury and Sons in Barre, VT. The audience was hot as the musicians went to town on accordions, fiddle, guitar, cittern and electric bass playing through a whole new collection of tunes! Rob Roche hopes to get everyone into the Otter Creek Studio before long and start the tape wheels turning!!!!
